Kick out the shingle
Hello,dear.
Shingle is a skin disease which mainly caused by a virus named varicella zoster virus (VZV). It appears on the body in the form of rashes and causes burning sensation on the skin. VZV is responsible for chickenpox in small children. These viruses hide itself in certain nerve cells near the spine and brain for years and suddenly breakout in the age of 50 resulting in shingle disease and not the chickenpox.
This virus reawakens in people with AIDS, Leukemia and chemotherapy because of the weakening of their immune system.
Although there is no cure, there is evidence to suggest that treatment with antiviral and anti-inflammatory drugs can shorten the duration of the rash and reduce the severity of post-herpetic neuralgia. You can also make some home treatment while the rash is active.
Wear light clothes.
Bandage the rashes at night to avoid irritation.
Clean the area with soap and water.
Do not scratch the blisters.
You can apply mixture of crushed aspirin to relieve pain. Rubbing alcohol is also good to reduce discomfort.
