Skin goes under renewal cycle by the time. In young age our skin discards the dead cells at more rapid rate. This cycle slower down with time. Alpha-hydroxy products for the face and the gently enhance this cycle by dissolving the "bond" that holds several layers of dead cells on the skin's surface. Because the skin is constantly generating new skin cells, it is impossible to "over-exfoliate" using a mild alpha-hydroxy prduct.
